Koja Coffee
Re-branding
Coffee is at the heart of every neighbourhood. It’s about bringing people together, connecting with the local community, getting an energy kick from caffeine and the people around you. In 2021, we helped the team at Koja Coffee with brand design, art direction and storytelling, to support their mission to establish Koja Coffee as one of the best and most interesting coffee shops in Surrey, southern England.

Challenge
The team at Koja approached us with a clear idea of what they wanted to communicate to their customers. We were immediately fascinated by the owner Victor’s passion and inspired by his mission to establish the best coffee shop in the Surrey region. Our biggest challenge was to turn his vision into a cohesive brand. One that resonated with the target audience and connected them with the Koja experience. Our mission was to create an authentic brand on which the website and social presence could flourish. Blending a genuine love for coffee with a sense of fun, we introduced modern typographic treatments and playful iconography that all resonate with Koja’s vision. This visual language was later complemented with photography and film that give a more personal touch to the whole brand.
Solution
After some initial meetings and with the insights gained, we were able to create a fully-dimensional brand experience. In order to start building a brand image we needed to first define the brand itself, including its values and objectives, and then enhance it through the most appropriate visual language. The entire process of creating this brand was as wonderful as the story behind Koja and we were excited to tell it to the good people of Surrey.
